| The DETOX unit is staffed 24 hours a day by nurses and an on-call physician. Clients are kept medically stable during withdrawal in a secure environment with a minimum of medication. The usual stay is three to nine days, depending on the substance abused. Fees are based on a sliding scale for clients who qualify, and a variety of insurance policies are accepted. DETOX staff educates and encourages clients to continue with outpatient or residential treatment.
- The DETOX unit has 6 beds in the men's ward, 5 beds in the women's ward, 3 short-stay beds, and 1 bed designated for an adolescent.
- Vital signs are taken twice a day, and medications are strictly monitored by the DETOX unit staff.
- Daily schedules include attending group therapy, Drug/Alcohol Education groups, and AA/NA meetings.
